Stress is known as Sahasa in Ayurveda. Sahasa by causing ojahksaya (loss of immunity) increases the susceptibility of the body to various diseases. Some of the ways that stress can present in the body are:

Headaches

Dizziness

Heart palpitations

Fatigue

Upset stomach

Shaking

Restless legs

Change in sleep

Eye twitching

Ayurveda says that there is a profound connection between our mental health and our physical body. Prioritizing our mental health is key. One of the ways we can support our bodies when under stress is to eat foods rich in stress-busting antioxidants.

In Ayurveda, food is medicine and having a healthy diet rich in fresh, organic produce, whole grains, and plant protein nourishes our bodies and goes a long way toward relieving stress. Fruits and vegetables are rich in the antioxidants that beat free-radical damage, cutting your susceptibility to stress and fatigue. It is also important to eat according to your Ayurvedic dosha.
