Pineapple -Pineapple juice contains an enzyme called bromelain, which triggers your body's ability to fight pain and reduce swelling. It's used as a treatment for inflammation and sports injuries and may be effective in reducing symptoms of osteoarthritis.

Blueberries -Blueberries have lots of phytonutrients that may fight inflammation and lessen pain. Studies suggest that daily incorporation of whole blueberries may reduce pain, stiffness, and difficulty to perform daily activities, while improving gait performance. If it's not berry season, frozen blueberries can have the same or even more nutrients than fresh. Remember to eat them alone to get the full benefit!

Turmeric- Turmeric is great for soothing chronic pain. Turmeric's main active component is curcumin and that is what gives the spice its yellow color. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potential treatment for a number of health conditions, including pain, asthma and decreased movement in people with osteoarthritis.

Ginger- Great for muscle pain. Studies have found that ginger can be effective in reducing the daily progression of pain and that it can also work to reduce soreness. To make ginger tea, peel and slice fresh ginger root, steep it in hot water for 10-15 minutes, and then strain. Also It has been shown that ginger was as effective as ibuprofen and mefenamic acid in relieving menstrual pain.

Cherries -The chemicals that give tart cherries their red color may relieve pain better than aspirin and may provide antioxidant protection comparable to commercially available supplements like vitamin E, according to Michigan State University researchers. Tart cherry juice has been shown to be effective in the treatment of some inflammatory conditions and has a very low incidence of adverse effects.

Peppermint -Because peppermint oil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, it not only can relieve pain and inflammation but can also calm the spasms that cause muscle cramps. Also, peppermint oil is terrific to keep on hand, in your car etc. especially if you are prone to headaches.

Garlic- Garlic is especially great for ear and joint/arthritic pain. By reducing inflammation, garlic may be able to alleviate some of the pain and discomfort associated with knee pain. Garlic contains compounds that have been found to have analgesic pain-relieving properties.

Cloves- Especially god for oral pain and gum inflammation. Cloves are also widely used as a natural pain reliever due to their content of eugenol, a natural pain reliever that's also used in some OTC pain rubs. Cloves can be found in capsule or powder form.
